Chapter 25 Fist
The footsteps of the one-eyed monster were slow but massive as they caused the small stones on the ground to bounce slightly. The eyeless monsters didn\'t hurry to attack, it was as if they were waiting for a command from their leader and were just trying to figure out who would be the easiest target with their long tongues.
"Six enemies, that\'s quite a lot considering five of them are damn fast and one is probably incredibly strong." Harald calmly said holding tightly to his sword hilt as he turned to Aron, "Elder, can you hold off the small ones for at least a few seconds?"
Aron glanced at him, "You want to try to kill them quickly? I wouldn\'t waste that much mana if I were you, but fine, if you need it, those five won\'t be able to move.
"Fine." Roland nodded and turned to the others, "Elin, cover me, the rest of you be ready for a surprise attack."
\'What am I supposed to do...?\' Zayne inwardly muttered with a thoughtful look. The massive monster did not frighten him at all, since he didn\'t see the danger in something large but slow. He looked at the blade as his eyes narrowed, \'Hmm, Roland could probably kill them all, but is that really what I want?\'
Zayne looked at the monsters with an ice-cold stare, \'This is all very interesting, but Roland won\'t always be the leader of my squad. If I want to succeed in this game, I have to make the most of it. My mana has already recovered, so I can even use the skill several times in a row.\'
Aron gave to Roland a sign and extended his arm forward. At the same moment, the monsters began to suspect something as they headed in their direction, but it was too late.
"\'Go!" Aron exclaimed loudly as blue chains flew out from under the ground chaining the five monsters in place.
"ROOOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRR!!!" The monsters roared furiously, trying to get out of the chains, but it was impossible since those chains could hold back even a monster as strong as Hobgoblin.
pαndα,noνɐ1,сoМ "Good job!" Roland rushed forward as a spark ran down the blade of his sword and mana headed for the weapon.
He went through the three monsters like a dark flash, slicing through their heads with a smooth move, as though he had done it thousands of times before.
"Now you!" Roland exclaimed, heading for the fourth monster, but suddenly his eyes went wide as the massive monster\'s arm appeared before him.
\'What the hell...?! Roland\'s pupils narrowed as he prepared to block the attack, but the one-eyed monster had another purpose. It gripped the chains tightly and easily broke them, releasing the two monsters from their captivity.
"How is that possible?" Aron shuddered as his eyes went wide in disbelief.
The two monsters were furious as they pounced on Roland from different directions at tremendous speed.
"Hah, fine, come here! I\'ll kill you even without chains!" Roland exclaimed with a menacing expression as he gripped the hilt of his sword tightly.
Tremble.
Suddenly, the massive monster struck the ground with two fists causing a violent shaking as if in a powerful earthquake.
\'Agh?\' Roland was too focused, so it completely ruined everything for him as he barely managed to regain his balance.
"Commander!!!" Elin exclaimed worriedly, pulling her arrow on the bowstring in a hurry, seemingly out of time as the sharp blades of the monsters were already approaching Roland.
\'No! I have to move faster!\' Elin began to fidget as her hands trembled since she realized she was not going to make it in time, as suddenly her red hair fluttered from two silhouettes running ahead at great speed.
The left silhouette quickly appeared next to Roland, with palms covered in dense red energy. Harald\'s cold gaze fell on the monster as he clenched his hand into a fist and punched the monster in the jaw from bottom to top with all his might, causing it to fly upward with the most powerful momentum.
The right silhouette was Zayne, whose blade exuded a bright blue glow. He wasn\'t as fast as Harald, but he got there in time as his blade plunged into the monster\'s heart just before the monster\'s crystal outgrowth should have wounded Roland.
"Die." Zayne calmly said, twisting the blade, causing blood to gush from the monster\'s eerie jaw.
[You have killed an opponent whose level is much higher than yours!]
[You receive double the amount of experience!]
[You gain 30 EXP!]
Tap.
Zayne drew his blade as the monster fell to the ground. Harald was right to investigate the previous one, so thanks to that Zayne was able to put one precise hit in the enemy\'s weak spot.
\'Damn, if I get some more experience I\'ll go to the next level. That\'ll make me even stronger!\' Zayne said to himself turning to the massive one that was staring at him intently as if he were a major threat.
"Wow, didn\'t expect you to be so fast." Roland muttered with a dazed look, taking a few steps back.
"Hah, looks like Zayne decided to follow my advice. He has a great future ahead of him." Harald smirked, looking relaxed at the last monster, "How do you like the idea of a threesome to deal with him? You know, I\'m not one of those people who likes to divide a tasty pie into many people. I prefer to take a big piece for myself so I\'m definitely full."
"Yeah, I feel the same way. Attacking one opponent with ten men is kind of wrong. Three of us are enough for this big guy." Zayne said calmly with an ice gaze as he placed the blade on his shoulder.
The monster seemingly understood them as it stopped looking at anyone but them, the others disappeared from the battlefield in an instant, and everyone seemed to agree with it since the knights weren\'t in a hurry to take the place of any of them.
\'How did this happen...? Why am I standing here and he\'s there?\' Elin inwardly muttered while in disbelief, looking at Zayne\'s back, \'A few hours ago he didn\'t even know what Chaos Hearth was and running no faster than a turtle! Why is he standing next to Commander Roland now, why not me?
Elin shook her head bringing herself to her senses as she took a step forward about to join them, she just didn\'t realize yet that this was not her level.
Crackle. Crackle. Crackle.
The monster\'s muscles tensed as it gradually began to grow larger as well as its crystals that shone brightly like stars in the night sky. The crystals became longer as the monster\'s back looked like an impregnable fortress that not even an entire army could invade.
\'No... I can\'t move...\' Elin trembled as fear gradually bound her heart, \'It\'s too big. How can I fight this monster? Its fist is the size of me!
Elin tried to handle her fears but suddenly her eyes went wide as from the shock the bow almost fell out of her hands, \'What the hell...?\'
"Well, well, you\'re pretty big, right?" Zayne was in front of the monster, at arm\'s length, staring carelessly into its massive eye.
The monster was outraged by this insolence, so with a furious roar it unleashed its massive fist straight at Zayne with tremendous power. The impact shook the entire cave as some of the knights struggled to keep their balance, shaking violently.
Tap.
Elin dropped her bow from her hands, as now where Zayne had just stood was the monster\'s fist, from beneath which slowly flowed scarlet blood. Everyone got goosebumps as they couldn\'t believe that this had actually happened.
"Damn, you\'re even slower than I thought." Zayne calmly said coming out from behind the monster\'s arm as he glanced at his blade that was dripping blood, "That was a mistake. Now I know you\'re not only slow, but you\'re not tough at all."
